Cost, download and platforms
Is Fidelity Trader+ free? Fidelity says the platform is free. Trading costs still follow your account. At launch Fidelity noted $0 commissions on online U.S. stock and ETF trades, with conditions: sell orders carry a small activity assessment fee, some ETFs carry a $100 transaction-based fee, and the offer applies only to certain retail accounts. Fidelity’s platform page adds that fees tied to your positions or transactions may apply. For the full fee schedule, check Fidelity directly.
Desktop. Download Trader+ Desktop for 64-bit Windows or 64-bit macOS from Fidelity’s platform page, then sign in with your normal Fidelity login. It’s built to run across up to four monitors. Fidelity links its system requirements from the transition page; check them before installing.
Web. Trader+ on the web runs in your browser, so it suits investors who can’t install software.
Mobile. Mobile Trader+ is a mode inside the Fidelity Investments app. Fidelity says to turn it on under Profile > Settings > General settings.
Getting started. After you sign in to the desktop app, the book icon at the top right opens a “Get Started” tutorial. Fidelity also runs live events and classes for Trader+ and offers a trading-specialist phone line at 800-343-3548.
